Hopefully this will be my last purse for a while, I finally finished this one that I intended to give as a Christmas present, now it became a birthday present. (I actually wanted to make this purse from U-handbag, but I chickened out. I was afraid of ruining the silk I bought for this purse, because the pattern is supposedly a little more intricate.) Anyway, I’ve made purses from this pattern, Simplicity 4670, before here, and I’m still happy with it. It’s an easy purse and I think the finished product looks nice.
I used silk dupioni for the outside, and cotton for the inside. The handles are cane- I actually used 6″ diameter handles rather than the 6.5″ that the pattern called for because that was all they had at my local Jo-anns. If I made it again I think I would put another pocket on the lining, and I would have put magnets so that it would close a little more securely. I made the pansy flower again from Kokoro No Te. My other pansy is here.
