I love the new Martha Stewart crafts line. My favorite is the flower kits, also shown in the Spring 2006 Weddings issue. I think these flowers will be a beautiful stand-in for fresh flowers (which is part of my homework from the Apartment Therapy 8 Week Cure), even better because I can’t forget to water them.
The instructions were easy to follow, and it was convenient to have the parts prepped. I think I know enough now that if I wanted to make tissue paper flowers without a kit, I could. The only downside is that it took me like 6 hours to make the 27 flowers in the kit.
The best part was the boyfriend test-
Him: Wow, you made those? They look so much better than I thought they would. I thought paper flowers? Really cheesey.
Me: What do you mean? It’s a Martha Stewart kit, of course it would turn out ok!
Him: Well I just thought that if it’s a kit you’d have to be able to follow directions…
